SarGas Limited: 2026 Mid-Year Highlights
The first half of 2026 has marked a major period of growth and momentum for SarGas Limited, as we continue advancing innovative solutions to transform sargassum and organic waste into renewable energy and biofertiliser across the Caribbean.
Building on a strong foundation from previous years, SarGas has made significant strides in project development, international recognition, and regional expansion. From securing key funding to engaging with global partners, 2026 is shaping up to be a transformative year.
Growing Global Recognition & Partnerships
SarGas gained international attention through participation in the Commonwealth Investment Network Accelerator Programme in London, where the company was recognised as the “Most Investable Opportunity.” This recognition highlights the increasing global demand for scalable, sustainable solutions to the sargassum challenge.
Throughout the year, the team also participated in major regional and international events, including IFAT Munich and IDB Invest Sustainability Week in Barbados, strengthening relationships with investors, technology providers, and development partners.
Advancing the SarGas ONE Project
A major focus in 2026 has been progressing the SarGas ONE project in Grenada — the company’s first commercial-scale sargassum-to-biogas facility.
Key milestones include:

- Securing a USD $250,000 OTAF grant to support final pre-construction activities

- Receiving a €100,000 BRIDGE grant to strengthen operational capacity and team development
These achievements move the project closer to construction and demonstrate growing confidence from international funding partners.
Expanding Regional Impact
SarGas has continued to build its presence across the Caribbean and beyond through research and feasibility work in Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and the Dominican Republic.
This work includes:

- Optimising biogas production using sargassum and organic waste

- Developing systems for collection, logistics, and fertiliser distribution

- Assessing opportunities for renewable energy generation and small-scale solutions
In addition, SarGas has been shortlisted under a Government of Mexico initiative, marking an important step toward expanding into new international markets.
Strengthening Local Operations & Demonstration
Closer to home, SarGas has established a new office at True Blue Bay Boutique Resort in Grenada, creating a hub for operations, collaboration, and innovation.
A new demonstration biogas digester was also installed on-site, allowing stakeholders, businesses, and community members to see the technology in action. A successful Demo Day showcased how sargassum and food waste can be converted into clean energy and biofertiliser, helping to drive awareness and adoption across the region.
